Christmas Tree

This is our Christmas tree at work. It's the same every year, but this year it just struck me as so pretty.

Piglet

A friend asked me to do a Piglet drawing for her daughter for Christmas. I used watercolor pencils (which I love).

Horses in the Wind

This is a drawing I did for a co-workers daughter. She really loves horses and this is one of her Secret Santa gifts.

Green Eyes

This is a gift from my brother. The cat is made to naturally rust as time goes on. I really love it.

Baby Blue

Here's another baby blanket...I have lots of friends having babies

Fall Centerpiece

I saw something similar to this on the U Create blog and I really liked it. I wanted a fall centerpiece that would work for both Halloween and Thanksgiving.

My Boys

I have had my amazing little guys (brothers) for 2 years and 3 days. I just adore them. When they were younger I created a canopy bed for them and two no sew fleece blankets. The blankets are still around. The bed didn't make it - they thought it was a jungle gym.

Bryce is on the left, Bogie on the right - not yet one year old

This picture was taken about a month ago - all grown up, but still playful (as you can see by their toy box)

Lighthouse Photo

I took this photo on NAS looking up from the walkway leading to the beach (2nd photo). I turned around and saw it and thought "that would make a nice picture" - I think it does.

Summer/Winter Pillows

I love to change my accessories according to the time of year it is, but that can take up a lot of space. So I created two pillow covers - one side to be used during the summer the other side for winter. A simple turn of the pillow and you can have 4 different looks. I've included two of those looks.
October - March

April - September

Two Purses

This is the first patterned project I've taken on - it's not bad, but there's room for improvement. With that said, I am pleased at the final product and will use them.

Da Bears

I am a Chicago Bears fan 'til death do us part. With football season here I had to make something to carry proudly to support my team - so I made this tote. It was so easy. I bought some Bears fabric, a canvas bag and fabric glue. It's just like wrapping a present with two sheets of paper. The fold is on the bottom of the bag. I love it!

15 Ways to a Happier Life

I love making lists so I thought it would be fun to add some to my Blog. All the information you will see in my lists come from personal experience, others experience, and countless articles and books I have read.
I am starting with "15 Ways to a Happier Life." There are so many more ways than the 15 I'm about to mention, but I thought these would be a good start.

1. Faith in God
2. Faith in yourself
3. Exercise
4. Eat healthy with the occassional indulgence
5. Get 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep
6. Forgive others
7. Forgive yourself
8. Declutter your home
9. Work on paying off your debt
10.Stop negative thoughts and talking - as soon as it starts
11.stance yourself from toxic people
12. Find a hobby you love and make the time to do it
13. Read
14. Spend time with family and friends - often
15. Look for the good in the bad
Bonus - make sure you have enough memory in your computer it doesn't take 10 minutes to navigate.

Earring Solution

I'm the kind of person that if it's out of sight it's out of mind. I have a ton of jewelry (I can't stop making it) and I love to wear it but without it being organized and in my sight I forget what I have. I have my necklaces hanging on a belt hanger (seveal hooks on the hanger) and I've used a standing paper towel holder for my bracelets. I've seen several versions of the frame earring holder so I made a very quick one. I probably need to make a few more for all my earrings but these are the ones I wear most often. I'm still working on what to make for the earrings with backs. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Baby Favors

These are favors I made for the shower I went to this weekend. I bought mints and pastel scrapbook paper. I cut the paper to desired length then used a stamp with baby sayings. I then wrapped the paper around the mints - using two sided tape to hold in place. The words are a bit blurry - I couldn't get the camera to take a clear picture, but in person they looked great.

Easy Yarn Project

I got this idea from Lion Brand Yarn's email. I took an empty Slim Jim container and with suede yarn and Elmers glue I circled the container gluing and placing the yarn around it until it was completely covered. I then added a little flower (using super glue).

Birthday Bag

I bought a plain white bag with the intention of decorating it. As I thought about it, I didn't like the idea that this cute decoration would end up getting thrown away. So finding items from around the house (the backing is a piece of cardboard) I created a piece of art that my little cousin can hang in her room. To keep it on the bag I hung it over the handles.

She

I drew her freehand. She's not proportionate but it seems like I've seen an actress that looks like her but can't pinpoint who...I need to work on being proportionate.

Babies

This is a drawing I did of a friend of mine's twin girls. I have a hard time with making babies and little children look older than they actually are but I think this one turned out ok.
